The credit hours the student has already completed and passed will be credited according to this assessment. Admission is subject to the approval of the college council and the university president.
In all cases, the college's admission requirements are subject to the provisions of the law regulating [the college/university]. Universities Law No. 49 of 1972 and its Executive Regulations
And Law No. (12) of 2009 concerning Private and National Universities and its Executive Regulations, and all that is issued by the Supreme Council of Universities in this regard. The student shall not be registered except at the beginning of either of the two main semesters only (the first semester, autumn, and the second semester, spring).
• The college follows a credit-hour system, and to obtain a degree, the following is required:
• Successful completion of courses equivalent to 144 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00.
• Successful completion of the graduation project
• Successful completion of the university requirements (8 credit hours), which are not counted towards the 144 credit hours required for a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design degree
• Passing courses graded on a pass/fail basis, which are not included in the GPA, such as Human Rights, Social Issues, and Summer Training
The study is in English, and the college council may allow some courses to be taught in Arabic, and the exam will be conducted in the language in which the course is taught.
The study period for a full-time student is 10 main semesters. This may be reduced for high-achieving students whose grades allow them to register for more credit hours than their peers, according to Article (19) of the regulations. The academic year comprises three semesters as follows:
The first semester, "Autumn": The study period is no less than 14 weeks. The second semester (spring): The study period is no less than 14 weeks.
The summer semester: The study period is no less than 7 intensive weeks – the number of weekly study hours allocated to each course is doubled.
Grade Point Average (GPA) is a numeric indicator for a student's academic performance, calculated on a scale of 4.0.
The CGPA is calculated cumulatively for all semesters.
In the case of a student who wishes to register for a reduced course load and has a CGPA between 2.0 and 4.0, this may affect the duration of their studies depending on the number of courses they choose to postpone, while adhering to the minimum allowed credit hours. Delaying certain courses may result in the student’s graduation being postponed by one semester or even a full academic year, depending on the nature of the course.
For students with a CGPA below 2.0, they are automatically permitted to register only for a reduced course load ranging from 10 to 14 credit hours, depending on their cumulative GPA. This is intended to help improve their academic performance, and it may also impact their expected graduation date.
